Joy and Liberation Therapy.
About Me

Dr. Danielle Samuel
Welcome! I’m Dr. Danielle (She/her/gyal), a licensed marriage and family therapist, assistant professor, scholar, and advocate. Whether you're seeking individual therapy, group therapy, or support for your family, my approach is trauma-informed and tailored to help you break cycles, create new ways of healing, and foster more meaningful connections.

My work is deeply rooted in my Caribbean upbringing and queer identity, which shapes my passion for creating spaces that are inclusive, healing, and empowering. I am passionate about working with survivors of sexual trauma, Black women, and those navigating issues around attachment, intergenerational trauma, family, work, and dating. My goal is to provide a therapeutic space that feels safe enough for you to take risks toward growth while being collaborative, affirming, and reparative.

In addition to therapy, I provide professional and personal development workshops, speaking engagements, mentorship and media consultation. I am also the President of the Los Angeles Bi+ Task Force, a non-profit organization helping to amplify the voices of the bi+ community through education, advocacy, and cultural enrichment events.

When I’m not working, you can find me painting, dancing, or spending quality time with my family. I believe in finding joy and liberation through rest, healing, loving, learning, and connecting—and I’m honored to help guide you on your journey.
